those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied.
How do you feel when you are very hungry? Jesus says that people who work for other peoples’ rights have the same feelings as people who are very hungry due to lack of food. Jesus asks us to seek justice in the same way we seek food when we are hungry. Justice to others means that we are not satisfied when others do not have what they need to live dignified lives. We are hungry and thirsty for their dignity. If we follow Jesus’ words we will help all people receive what is theirs by human right.
On what occasion were you the most hungry; when you were starved for food? Do you think anyone could want other people to have dignity as much as you wanted food?
